It is my pleasure and great honour to welcome all stakeholders in the energy industry in Tanzania to join this important Platform. This Platform comprises of a wide network of energy stakeholders from academic institutions in Tanzania and the Netherlands, as well as international and domestic energy companies. We also work closely with Government institutions responsible with development of energy sector.

The founding educational institutions from Tanzania are the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), and Karume Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) of Zanzibar; while those from from Netherlands are University of Twente (UT), Hanze University of Applied Sciences (HUAS), Delft University of Technology (TUD) and Utrecht University (UU).

Tanzania Energy Platform brings together initiatives, partners and networks to support the acceleration of the energy development and growth in Tanzania. We do so, under our three pillars: training, research and innovation.

This Platform provides a unique opportunity to stakeholders in various sources of energy to work together in creating a more conducive environment for energy sector’s development. Our cooperation with top quality educational and research institutions plus a wide network with the international and domestic energy sector members ensures that our program and activities are relevant to the energy industry and responds directly to the needs of the national energy demands.

It is my sincere hope that you will find time to participate to this platform and contribute both materially and financially for sustainable growth of this important forum in the energy industry in Tanzania and beyond.
